Two people are dead after a car collided with a pickup truck in Liberty, Maine, near Lake St. George State Park.
The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday along Route 3, just a quarter mile from where a fatal crash happened one day earlier.
State Police say the car collided with the pickup truck after crossing the centerline. The driver of the car and a passenger in the pickup truck were killed in the crash. They have not been identified.
The driver of the truck was taken to a Belfast hospital with unknown injuries.
Traffic on Route 3 had to be detoured following the collision.
Police are still investigating why the crash took place.
