2 Killed in Head-On Crash Overnight in Norwood

Two people are dead and two others were seriously injured in a head-on crash in Massachusetts early Wednesday morning.

Norwood police said the crash happened in front of a home on Walpole Street just after 1 a.m.

Upon arrival, police said they found a Toyota Camry with extensive front-end damage on the side of the road. A Dodge Ram pickup had come to rest in the same general area, also with extensive front-end damage.

Police said firefighters had to remove two people from the Camry. The driver, 20-year-old Victoria Cody, of Norwood, was pronounced dead at the scene. The front seat passenger, 22-year-old Alex Pandolfo, of Norwood, was transported to Norwood Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Another passenger, who was in the back seat, was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston by medical helicopter. He is said to have sustained serious injuries.

Police said the driver of the pickup truck was lying on the side of the road with a leg injury. He was transported to Norwood Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

The names of the two who remain hospitalized have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation by Norwood police, Massachusetts State Police and the Norfolk district attorney's office.
