Firefighters have responded to house fires in Glover and Chester, Vermont.
Family members were able to escape in both fires Sunday.
A firefighter was injured in the Chester fire; the extent of his injuries weren't immediately known.
The American Red Cross says volunteers hiked over a mile in single-digit temperatures to provide assistance to the two people who lost their home in Glover.
There was no immediate word on what caused the fires.
