2 Killed, Teen Injured When Car, Tractor-Trailer Crash in Litchfield, Maine

A girl in the back seat was hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening

Authorities say two West Gardiner women died and a 14-year-old girl was injured when their car collided with a tractor-trailer in Litchfield, Maine.

Kennebec County Sheriff Ryan Reardon says 92-year-old Grace Marston was driving a Chevrolet Impala on Tuesday when her car collided with a tractor-trailer that was heading south toward Tacoma Lakes.

Reardon says Marston died hours after she was airlifted to a Lewiston hospital. Her front passenger, 82-year-old Anita Wade, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A girl in the back seat was hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 67-year-old Robert Morang of Chelsea, was not hurt.

Reardon says alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash. The incident is under investigation.
