2 People Sent to Hospital Following Hit-and-Run in Massachusetts

Two people were sent to the hospital following a hit-and-run in Windsor Saturday afternoon.

State Police responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on Route 9 at Route 8A in Windsor, Massachusetts at about 2:15 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, a preliminary investigation indicates that a 55-year-old Pittsfield man was traveling on Route 9 Westbound on a 2002 Honda VT1100 when a vehicle, which had been traveling eastbound, turned left in front of the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle.

The vehicle then fled the scene of the crash, police said.

The operator of the motorcycle and his 57-year-old female passenger, also from Pittsfield, were both transported to Boston Medical Center in Pittsfield for treatment of serious and minor injuries respectively, police said.

According to police, the vehicle which fled the scene, traveling northbound on Route 8A towards the town of Savoy, is described as a blue Subaru SUV. The vehicle should have damage to the passenger side, police said.
