Victim Escapes From Trunk After Armed Kidnapping

Police are currently searching for Adynew Alves, 28, of Boston, and Stephanie Walker, 28, of Lawrence, who are accused in the kidnapping

Massachusetts State Police and local police are searching for two suspects after a woman allegedly was kidnapped at gunpoint in Lawrence Tuesday evening and managed to escape from the trunk of the car.

Police are currently searching for Adynew Alves, 28, of Boston, and Stephanie Walker, 28, of Lawrence, who are accused in the kidnapping. Their vehicle, a blue 1996 Nissan Sentra with the Massachusetts license plate “478-PK4,” was located near the Taunton/Freetown border.

State police are taking possession of the vehicle to process evidence.

The 49-year-old victim was placed into the trunk after being kidnapped by gunpoint in a detached garage at a Lawrence home and driven south on Route 24, according to state police. She was able to break free from the trunk in Taunton when the car slowed in traffic and motorists helped her call police. The suspects then fled south.

Warrants have been issued for Alves and Walker. Alves is charged with armed assault, assault and battery and kidnapping. Walker is charged with kidnapping and assault and battery.
