Taylor Swift Gives Back to Horace Mann School

(NECN) - A school for the deaf in Boston is $50,000 richer thanks to pop starlet Taylor Swift.

The singer donated $10,000 to the Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Allston, which was matched by four other sponsors for an upcoming concert contest starring Swift.

Schools around the nation were challenged to rack up likes of the event on Facebook. The school that earned the most likes would also earn a free concert.

When some pranksters thought it would be funny for Swift to perform at a school for the deaf and hacked the contest, the school was eventually disqualified.

When Swift found out, she doled out the money and also promised all the kids at the school a free ticket to the next concert in Boston.
