NH Authorities Working to Bring Fugitive Couple Back From Fla.

(NECN: Lauren Collins, Plaistow, NH) - Authorities in New Hampshire are working to bring a Plaistow couple arrested in Florida back to the state. The pair has been on the run from child abuse charges for two weeks.

Much to the relief of everyone in the area, this manhunt is now over. Dow and Linscott are in protective custody in Florida.

US Marshalls and authorities in Florida are keeping the details of their arrests pretty close to themselves.

They do say when Dow and Linscott eventually come back to New Hampshire, their transportation schedule will not be released to the public for fear of their safety.

Emotions are running very high in this case. The couple is accused of beating Linscott’s 3-year-old son James, who is on the mend. He has undergone several surgeries up at children’s hospital up at Dartmouth in Lebabnon, N.H.

Linscott and Dow were arrested at Universal Studios in Orlando. They had just got done watching a parade when authorities came in and placed them under arrest without incident.

We have now learned the couple will appear in court in Florida Friday morning on a fugitive from justice charge.

Rockingham county attorney Jim Reams says the couple will decide whether or not to waive or fight extradition.

“I find it very sad that these two were located in an area designed to bring joy and happiness to children,” said U.S. Marshal David Cargill, Jr., in a statement.
