MBTA Could Raise Fares Or Cut Services

(NECN) - If you ride the MBTA, you might want to get ready for another fare increase.

"T" officials say they could be forced to raise fares by as much as one third unless the state comes up with more funding.

Another possible scenario involves fare hikes of 15 percent and service cuts on weekends and weekdays at 11pm.

The MBTA says it is facing a projected $140 million budget deficit in the next fiscal year.
