Closer Look at Suspect's Russian Social Media Page

(NECN: Alison King) - Like most teenagers these days, Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev has a social network page.

Tsarnaev has a page on VKontakte, a Russian social media site. Similar to a Facebook page, his 'VK' shows his birthdate, relationship status, city, school and spoken languages.

The 19-year-old suspect of a massive manhunt, who attended Cambridge Ringe & Latin School, listed "Career and money" as a personal priority.

"Besides having groups about Chechnya, as you can see here, he has a couple of groups about Islam," said Sophie Bakradze, a Northeastern University student in Boston who is fluent in Russian.

Islam is also Tsarnaev's listed world view.

Bakradze described one of the videos on Tsarnaev's page.

"It was actually pretty full of violence," said Bakradze. "It showed a lot of bloody scenes from Syria, and basically, the video is saying that his brothers and sisters were killed for no other reason but believing in Allah ... and that nonbelievers who were killing the true believers were not worthy to live."

Tsarnaev does not have many friends, but he has gained quite a few followers.

"He has only nine friends, but he has a lot of followers," said Bakradze. "About an hour ago, he had a little bit over 100 and now he has over 230."
