(NECN: Josh Brogadir, Cambridge) - Some of the people NECN has been speaking with are friends of Dzhokhar when he was at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. They are in shock and do not understand how all of this could have happened.
One specifically, Sanjaya Lamichhane, is a former high school wrestling teammate. They wrestled in the same weight class, 112 pounds.
Sanjaya says he never could have seen this coming.
"We were partners, we used to wrestle together all the time," he says. "I look back into it, there isn't any indication that he would do something like this. He's such a nice kid...this is the kind of kid you would see, you would want to be best friends with him, he's such a nice kid, always smiling, he's such a nice kid. That's all I can say. If you were to get picked at, he would stand up for you...he's a leader. He's a smart kid...he's nice."
