DARTMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - Classes have resumed at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and campus school officials say the school is "absolutely secure and safe."
Suspected Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was a sophomore at the university and lived on campus. The school closed Friday during the manhunt to find him.
All residence halls are open Monday and classes are being held as usual. Assistant Chancellor John Hoey says the room Tsarnaev occupied with another student has been secured. He would not say whether authorities recovered any weapons or explosives.
Students who know Tsarnaev described him as a regular youth and say they are shocked that he is a suspect.
The university planned to observe a moment of silence Monday afternoon and hold a campus vigil later in the day.
