Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital to Open New Facility

(NECN: Jackie Bruno) - Many of the injured victims of the Boston marathon bombings will be recovering at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

The hospital is about to open a new facility in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood, and gave reporters a look inside the new facility on Wednesday.

Spaulding's president, David Storto, has battled a spinal cord injury himself and gave NECN some insight into what the people recovering from the marathon bombings can expect.

The new hospital features state-of-the-art technology, an aquatic therapy center, and an outdoor therapy garden area.

Vice President of Medical Affairs, Dr. Ross Zafonte, said it’s an incredibly green facility based on feedback.

“We believe you get stronger by collaborating with each other, collaborating with great teams and then your community,” said Zafonte.
