(NECN: John Monahan, Boston) - Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jarrod Clowery is out of rehab and out on the town.
Released from Spaulding just Thursday morning, by Thursday night he came to the Park Plaza Castle to thank doctors, nurses and emergency responders first hand.
“When I found out I could thank a thousand people at once I had to be here. These people never get enough credit," Clowery said.
After a round of applause it was obvious that comment meant a lot to the caregivers at the Brigham. The hospital treated 39 victims of the blasts all together, including 23 in the first 45 minutes after the attack.
Recovery room nurse Robert Veilieux said April 15 was a day they always prepare for but hope doesn’t happen.
"Although we train for it it doesn’t happen often thank God... when it did, we all just did what we need to do," he said.
Hundreds of hospital personnel played a role in the incredible response, and according to Dr. Ron Walls, who coordinated all the care, despite the unprecedented event his staff was on their game.

"Everybody performed so unbelievably well and every once and a while I would pause and look around and I felt proud of what people were doing," Dr. Walls said.
The event at the Park Plaza was a chance to honor all those who helped according to the Brigham’s president, Dr. Betsy Nabel.
"Being able to stand proud during the aftermath of the Boston bombings just allowed us to show our stuff and this is my way of saying thank you," Dr. Nabel said.
And Jarrod Clowery couldn’t agree more, saying, "this was the the Super Bowl of their profession and they performed flawlessly."
