(NECN: Julie Loncich) – Monday is the day for commencement for Boston College, but one major name will be missing.
This is because of a controversy with the Keynote speaker.
Cardinal Sean O’Malley will not be in attendance.
He is boycotting the guest speaker, Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny, a supporter of abortion rights.
O’Malley issued a statement that said, “Although I shall not be present to impart the final benediction, I assure the graduates that they are in my prayers on this important day in their lives."
Julie Loncich has more.
