Topsfield, Mass. Man Under Investigation for Possible Boston Bombing Ties

(NECN) - Authorities are investigating whether a man accused of threatening to blow up a plane had ties to the marathon bombing suspects.

Daniel Morley from Topsfield, Mass. faces charges after allegedly assaulting his mother and her boyfriend and making a threat to hijack an airplane.

According to a police affidavit, Morley's mother told police that her son had materials needed to build a pressure cooker before the Boston Marathon attacks.

The affidavit also states that Morely bragged that his best friend knew Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

A search of the Morley's home uncovered the bomb making materials along with a cache of weapons and ammunition.

Morley is due in court Thursday.

The FBI is investigating to see if Morley was influenced by anyone when he made the plane threat.
