(NECN: Mike Cronin) - Duy Truong has fond memories of his Worcester, Mass. high school friend, Alexis Correa.
“I wish there was more people on this earth like him, honestly,” he said.
On Sunday, Correa died in a car crash along with his girlfriend and one other person.
“To me, the sad part is he wasn't doing anything wrong,” said Truong. “It wasn't even his fault, or the people he was with.”
Authorities say it happened early Sunday morning on Route 146 in Lincoln, R.I. State police say Correa, Isabel Vasquez, and one other were hit head on by a wrong way driver, identified as Aldo Almanzar of North Smithfield, R.I.
Almanzar also died in the crash. Correa and Vasquez, both from Worcester, were 22 years old.
“The relationship that we formed in school was enough for me to call him a brother of mine,” said Truong.

Truong played football and ran track with Correa at Doherty Memorial High School. He says Correa was a gifted athlete.
“He could run like no one else could just on pure talent,” said Truong.
“He was one of those guys that pretty much did his thing and he was respectful when he saw you,” said football coach Sean Mulcahy.
Mulcahy says Correa was a versatile wide receiver for the team. He says Vasquez also attended Doherty High School.
“She was very nice girl, very friendly, well liked, just a sad situation,” he said.
Truong says Correa was a very loving person and was never afraid to show it. He says it's still hard to accept his friend is gone.
“It's just a tragic, tragic thing,” he said. “It kills me, it really does, to lose a friend.”
