Boston Police Investigate Stabbing in Jamaica Plain

(NECN: Jackie Bruno, Boston) - Police are looking for a suspect after a stabbing Monday night in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood.

The stabbing happened at 9:20 p.m., still a pretty brazen time for a stabbing during the summer. Police say the victim was stabbed in the area of 9 Plant Court. The suspect chased the victim toward a neighborhood on Heath Street.

That chase was caught on camera.

Surveillance video shows the suspect chasing the victim, and then the suspect seems to give up and run away. The suspect has not been caught, but he's described as a white male, six feet tall, and about 200 pounds, wearing a blue shirt, black baseball cap, and a white emblem on the front. He was also wearing black sneakers and denim shorts.

One man who said he thought this area was getting better, not worse.

"It's a pretty decent area," said Bryan Alexander, who works in the neighborhood. "To hear that something like that happens at 9:00, it's really disappointing."
