Mass. Officials Announce 2nd Human Case of WNV

(NECN) - Health officials announced a second human case of West Nile virus in Massachusetts Wednesday.

Massachusetts Department of Public Health says a Norfolk County man in his 30s was hospitalized with the mosquito-borne illness and has been discharged.

Officials say their assessment of the risk of West Nile in areas will be based on tests they're conducting to determine where the man was likely exposed to the infected mosquitoes.

So far this season, there has been one other human case of West Nile virus.
