Maynard, Mass. Police Searching for Man Impersonating Officer

(NECN: Justin Michaels, Maynard, Mass.) - Someone in the Maynard, Mass. area is impersonating a police officer. Maynard Police say that person has made a vehicle stop with their car, which had flashing lights and all.

Just before one in the morning on Aug. 22, a woman was stopped on Route 117. She noticed another car had been following her for several miles. Then, a blue flashing light was turned on, and the woman thought she was being pulled over, so she did.

She told Maynard Police a man approached her car and ordered her to get out. She was eventually let go. She says she was suspicious so she contacted the Stow Police. Maynard and Stow police officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The woman described the man as a white man in his 40s, Who is more than 6 feet tall and around 225 pounds, with short brown hair, facial scarring from acne, a feminine voice.

She says the car he was driving was a dark colored sedan similar to a police cruiser with a single blue strobe light on the dash.

Maynard police are asking for the public’s help to find the person who they say is acting like a police officer. If you know anything, contact Maynard police at 978–897–1012.

Police say if you are pulled over by someone in an unmarked police cruiser, that police officer will identify themselves immediately upon making a motor vehicle stop.
