Polar Bear Cub Makes Debut

(NECN/APTN) - A polar bear cub named Henry made his first public appearance this weekend. The 19-week-old is the first polar bear cub to be born at Sea World on Queensland, Australia's Gold Coast.

Henry was in a playful mood Saturday as he explored his public enclosure with his mother. The cub rolled in the ice, swam in the pool and delighted visitors.

Henry weighs 33 pounds right now, but he'll grow to weigh over 1,100 pounds.

Henry's father, Nelson, and his uncle, Hudson, were found orphaned in Canada and brought to Australia.

The cub is named after Henry Hudson, the explorer who discovered Hudson Bay in Canada.
