Investigation Underway After 2-alarm Fire in Somerville, Mass.

(NECN: John Moroney) -  Fire officials in Somerville, Mass. are investigating after a 2-alarm blaze Thursday night.

Crews responded just before 8:00 p.m. to a home on Dickinson Street.

Officials say the fire was contained to the second and third stories of the home.

The family was not home at the time of the blaze.

This fire caused extensive damage overnight.

Somerville has experienced a rash of fires in recent months, some of which were confirmed to be arson.

Somerville Fire Chief Kevin Kelleher said that it is too early to determine if arson is the case here as well.

No injuries were reported.
