(NECN: John Moroney, Concord, Mass.) – The search for a missing Massachusetts man has resumed at Walden Pond in Concord.
The 63-year-old from Lincoln went there Sunday with the goal of swimming across the pond.
Police do say the missing man is an experienced swimmer who knows Walden Pond.
State Police divers are back in the water at Walden Pond as the search continues for the missing 63-year-old man who went swimming with his wife and a friend Sunday evening.
There’s a water search, ground search and air search underway.
Authorities say the wife and female friend swam ahead of the man, and at some point they turned around and he was gone.
Police say the man was wearing a bathing suit and not a wet suit when he started to swim at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Walden Pond is more than 100 feet deep in the middle and its current water temperatures range from 30-50 degrees according to police.
People swim in the pond almost year round, or at least until it starts to freeze over.
Mounted units are searching the woods around Walden and they are using sonar in the water. They are focusing on an area in the pond where the man was last seen with his two swimming partners.
The park and the pond will remain closed until the search is over.
