Hispanic Heritage Month: Boston Honors Hispanic Culture

(NECN: Jackie Bruno) – An event was held this morning in Boston as NECN continues to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month.

The El Mundo Hispanic Heritage Breakfast recognized many people that made contributions to the local Hispanic community.

Individuals of Hispanic descent and Boston politicians alike, including Gabriel Gomez, Marty Walsh, John Connolly, came together for the breakfast.

Carlos Arredondo was also among those in attendance. He received a Heroic Act award, the first of its kind.

Arredondo saved the life of Jeff Bauman, a Boston Marathon survivor, this past spring. Additionally, both Arredondo and his wife continue to save lives with their involvement in suicide prevention.
