Harassment in the NFL: Has Bullying Gone Too Far?

(NECN) - There is new fallout from a bullying case inside the Miami Dolphins locker room.

Richie Incognito stands accused of bullying Jonathan Martin so severely he left the team.

Incognito was suspended indefinitely for his conduct.

There are reports, however, it was Dolphins coaches that asked Incognito to toughen Martin up.

For more on this case, we brought in Diana Cutaia, president of Coaching Peace.

She said that the incident is bullying and workplace harassment and “should be addressed in that way.”

She said that bully has not been a term used in the NFL, and it’s usually referred to as hazing.

She said, “This is the tipping point. This is where the paradigm begins to shift.”

She said that people need to begin educating on bullying in sports among professionals and students.
