Probe After Police Officer Fires Gun in Woonsocket, RI

WOOSOCKET, R.I. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a police officer fired his gun while probing a domestic incident in Woonsocket.

Woonsocket Police Det. Jamie Paone, spokesman for the juvenile detective division, says no one was injured in the shooting that occurred at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday.

The shooting occurred in the area of Clinton and Pond streets. He says police officers were actively investigating a domestic-related incident.

Paone says the case is still under investigation.

She did not provide additional details.
