(NECN: Josh Chapin, New Haven, Conn.) - There's a new "game" being played in New Haven, Connecticut, and it has local residents worried that they could get swept up in the violence.
It's Lynn Mahon's daily walk from the hospital to union station, a walk that takes her down Church Street south and past Columbus Avenue, where police say the vast majority of these knock out attacks have happened.
"Truthfully, I'll probably take the shuttle instead of walking this way now because if it's been happening in this area, I don't want to be caught up in that," said Mahon.
Police say 6 people have been caught up in these assaults.
"Where young kids get together and rather than go to rob you they go to hit you and nothing more," explained New Haven police chief, Dean Esserman.
Three attacks happened Monday, three Tuesday, but nothing since then. Police say the injuries haven't been serious.
Chief Esserman says they've deployed more officers to this area and are moving quickly to quash these incidents

"By all means necessary we stop this dead in its tracks which is what we're going to do. We're going to find these people and we're going to stop them dead in their tracks," said Esserman.
Investigators believe the cases are related and that the same individuals might have committed the crimes.
