Cambridge, Mass. Man Charged With Killing Uncle

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - A Cambridge man is behind held without bail after police say he beat his 73-year-old uncle to death in his home.

Harold Antoine Maxwell was arraigned Wednesday in Cambridge District Court in connection with the death of Jesse Maxwell, whose body was found in his Cambridge apartment late Monday night. He's facing a charge of murder in the first degree.

The 33-year-old suspect was arrested without incident on Tuesday.

An autopsy determined that the older man's death was caused by injuries to the head and compression of the neck.

Authorities did not disclose a possible motive.

Maxwell is due back in court Dec. 19 for a probable cause hearing and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

It was not immediately clear if Maxwell had hired an attorney.
