Woman Arrested for Strangling Boyfriend in Hartford, Conn.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Police have arrested a woman suspected of strangling a man in a Hartford condominium.

Lt. Brian Foley, commander of the police major crimes division, says the 24-year-old woman called 911 at about 1 p.m. Saturday, claiming that she had a domestic violence incident with her boyfriend. Officers who arrived at the Wethersfield Avenue home found the 27-year-old man dead at the scene.

Foley says detectives believe the incident was a domestic violence related homicide and that the woman is cooperating.

Foley says investigators have evidence that the man was strangled, but the medical examiner will formally determine the manner and cause of death.

Foley police are working with the Connecticut state attorney's office to determine what charges should be filed against the suspect.
