Post-Christmas Sales Bring Customers Into Burlington, Mass. Mall

NECN: Kristen Caira, Burlington, Mass.) - Sales at stores were down for weeks leading up to Christmas, but big sales are expected Thursday. Stores opened early and showcased all sorts of sales with the hopes of enticing shoppers who may be returning gifts or looking to use a gift card.

Bargain hunters can find 50-75 percent off of several items and door buster deals were scattered all over.

However, customers had varied reasons for being at the Burlington Mall at 6 a.m. this morning.

“Well, we’re early birds by nature. So, either stay home or come here,” said one shopper.

“If I come now, there’s no line, no wait,” said another.

Analysts predict that Thursday will go down as the fifth busiest shopping day of the year, whether consumers are looking for bargains or to make returns.
