(NECN) - The body of fallen Abington, Mass. Marine Sergeant Daniel Vasselian is scheduled to return to Massachusetts on New Year’s Eve.
The 27-year-old was killed in combat in the Helmand Province in Afghanistan on Monday.
He was on his third combat tour of duty.
His body returned to the U.S. on Christmas Day.
A visitation service for Vasselian will held be on the Jan. 1 and he will be buried on Jan. 2.
