3 Residential Buildings Evacuated After Gas Leak in Lowell, Mass.

4:30 P.M. UPDATE: According to National Grid, five residents were evacuated from one building, but returned almost immediately. Three residents at 754 Lakeview Avenue, two of whom were disabled, were displaced, but have also returned. The cracked gas main has been repaired and crews have cleared the scene.

(NECN) -  A gas leak has forced the evacuation of three residential buildings in Lowell, Mass.

The gas leak was reported just after 10 a.m. on Lakeview Avenue.

Lowell Police and the fire department are on scene investigating.
