Man Shot to Death in Boston's Dorchester Neighborhood

(NECN: Kathryn Sotnik, Boston) - Boston Police say a man in his 20's is dead after he was shot several times.

The victim was found just before 6:30 p.m. night outside a Dorchester home.

Dozens of detectives and uniformed officers responded to the scene, located at 82 Callender Street.

"Unfortunately that victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased," said Boston Police Superintendent William Gross.

As of Friday night, the victim's name had not been released.

Enrique Pomales lives inside the home where the man was found dead.

Pomales says he doesn't know who the victim is, or how he got there.

He says he was just returning home from work, but that his family was home at the time.

"They were just scared and crying, my kids and wife are in the house, and my mother in law, everybody in the family is on the house right now."

Pomales also says his family didn't see anything, or hear anything prior to the shooting.

Shortly after, officers could be seen canvassing the neighborhood for evidence.

Police are now asking for the public's help to help them find the suspect or suspects.

"It's a close-knit neighborhood, it's been faced with some challenges, but it's really, this time of day, if anyone saw anything, please contact us," said Chief Gross.
