(NECN: John Moroney) - It waws an incredible sight in South Boston - a vehicle lodged into the side of a real estate office.
Mike Foley was inside the office Saturday morning when the car and driver crashed through a conference room wall.
"You could see him through the windshield," said Foley. "He was awake and responsive, and seemed pretty calm."
It started in the parking lot of Rite Aid around 9:30 a.m. Authorities said the older driver was in his Mercury Marquis in the lot when his vehicle suddenly sped across Broadway backwards.
"It apparently came from the Rite Aid parking lot, crossed Broadway, crossed the sidewalk, up and over the guard rail and the retaining wall for the Stop & Shop, and it got lodged in the building," said Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Finn.

First responders arrived within minutes. They were able to help get the driver out.
His vehicle was a bit trickier.
The unidentified driver suffered only minor injuries, and is expected to be okay.
Suzanne McHale lives in the neighborhood and building and were the crash occurred.
"There's usually tons of people out, especially with the break in the weather. People come outside," said McHale. "People are training for the marathon. There's always people on the street, so I'm shocked that nobody was injured."
The city's Inspectional Services Department was on scene for a good part of the day, trying to make sure the building was safe.
People in South Boston are amazed that no one seriously hurt as a result of the accident.
