Search Continues for Missing BU Graduate Eric Munsell

(NECN: Kathryn Sotnik, Boston) - Boston Police are asking for the public's help to locate Eric Munsell, who they say was last seen around 11:30 pm Saturday after leaving the Market Lounge downtown.

His distraught mom, Mary Lynn Mills, is in from Georgia, staying at a hotel in Boston until he's found.

"Right now we don't really have any leads to go on," said an emotional Mills.

Munsell, who family says works as an aviation engineer for General Electric, vanished while out with a group of friends. They were celebrating his 24th Birthday.

Mills says, "I'm sure they were all drinking and partying, and he apparently stumbled his way into the men's room, and at that point he was escorted out, not given the option of retrieving his coat."

By the time his friends came outside to get Munsell, Mills says her son disappeared.

She says his cell phone was last pinged around 12:30 a.m. near the Marriott Long Wharf. It's unclear why he was there. Munsell lives in the North End.  Police are also going through surveillance video at the Harbor and focusing their investigation Tuesday on the water.

Munsell's former girlfriend, Allison Bitto, says she's baffled. "He's smart, very very street smart so a lot of this just doesn't make sense," she said.

Munsell has brown hair and brown eyes. He's about 6-foot-1 and weighs about 165 pounds according to his family.

He has a scar on his left cheek and was last seen wearing a blue checkered shirt and blue jeans.

If you have any information, you're urged to call Boston police at 617-343-4248.

A Facebook page has also been set up to help raise money.
