Worcester, Mass. Man Charged With Murder in Auburn Mall Death

(NECN: Ally Donnelly, Worcester, Mass.) - A Worcester, Mass. man was arraigned Wednesday in connection to a death investigation at the Auburn Mall.

Twenty-seven-year-old Vu Van Ngo was ordered to be held without bail after being charged with murder.

Authorities say he beat and shot Nhong Nguyen, 46, of Worcester. Both Ngo and Nguyen worked at Worcester Envelope, and officials say Ngo would give Nguyen rides to and from work. He allegedly dumped her body at the mall.

Nguyen was found unconscious and bleeding in the mall parking lot Tuesday afternoon. She later died after arriving a short time after arriving at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Although an autopsy is underway, Worcester County District Attorney's Office says it appears Nguyen was shot. ADA Jeffrey Travers said during Wednesday's arraignment that investigators found what is believed to be blood in Ngo's car and a .22-calibert semi-automatic pistol in his home.

Ngo's next court date is March 19.
