250 Dead Animals Found in Freezers

A Springfield, Massachusetts, homeowner faces animal cruelty charges in connection with the discovery of more than 250 dead animals in freezers, according to MassLive.com.

The investigation regarding the property at 402 Allen St. is ongoing.

Rob Halpin, Director of Public Relations for MSPCA-Angell, tells necn his agency expects to file felony animal cruelty charges, but the exact number and type are still pending.

The owner of the property is listed in Housing Court records as Kathleen McHendry.

Inspectors also found more than 100 animals inside and outside the house that were alive, but allegedly neglected.
