After Problem-ridden 2013, Metro North Officials Renew Focus on Safety

(NECN) - The leadership of Metro North is in the hot seat in Connecticut following two derailments and a power outage that reduced service.

At a hearing at the legislative office building in Hartford Thursday, railroad officials admitted that Metro North had a terrible year in 2013.

They also said changes are being made and that safety needs to be the top priority again.

They added that in May, Metro North riders will see some changes in the schedule.

This is because running times will be longer than last year as the railroad focuses on safety improvements.
