(NECN) - Rye Barcott is the Marine veteran who founded a relief effort for the slum dwellers of Nairobi, Kenya. Now he is telling the story in a new book and a documentary film.
Barcott is co-founder of Carolina for Kibera, a relief effort dedicated to improving health, sanitation and education.
The book is titled 'It Happened on the Way to War'.
Barcott joins Jim Braude on Broadside to discuss his story.
