Witnesses Subdue Boston Stabbing Suspect Until Police Arrive

(NECN) – Boston Police confirm that a suspect was arrested at the scene of a stabbing in the city early Sunday morning.

Multiple witnesses were able to subdue the suspect, 29-year-old John Driscoll from Jamaica Plain, until police arrived.

The victim, a 23-year-old male from Waltham, Mass, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Mass General Hospital.

Driscoll suffered minor injuries and was transported to Tufts Medical Center. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to murder.

The stabbing was the result of an altercation between the two men. They did not appear to previously know each other.

Some witnesses suffered minor injuries but were not transported.

Driscoll is due in court Monday morning.
