TMZ: Inmate Allegedly Attacked by Hernandez Released

(NECN) – According to TMZ, the inmate who was allegedly attacked by Aaron Hernandez inside the Bristol County House of Corrections has been released.

TMZ reports 25-year-old Andrew Booker was released from custody Saturday afternoon.

Booker was in handcuffs when he was allegedly attacked by the former New England Patriots star back in February.

Booker allegedly exchanged words with Hernandez. Later, the two men came across each other in the hallway. Booker's lawyer, Michael Maloney, says his client was punched and struck repeatedly by Hernandez, who was not in handcuffs at the time of the incident.

Charges have not been issued yet.

Hernandez is being held without bail. He has pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges related to the death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.
