Student Arrested in UMass Boston Bomb Threats

(NECN) - A 29-year-old student has been arrested in connection with two bomb threats at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Police have arrested senior Dean Beckford in threats made at the school's Wheatley Hall on April 17 and April 22.

The building was evacuated both days as police searched and found no explosive devices.

Prosecutors say that Beckford made the threats from payphones.

At his arraignment, Beckford pleaded not guilty and bail was set at $20,000. He is due in court May 19.
