26-Year-Old Charged in Fall River Armed Robbery

According to the victims, Quincy Sears pointed a handgun at one of them and told him to "give him all of his money."

A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged after he allegedly robbed three men at gunpoint, police said.

According to police, they responded to a call from the traffic rotary at North Main Street and Airport Road in Fall River, Massachusetts, around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they found three men holding the suspect, who was later identified by authorities as Quincy Sears, of Fall River, down on the ground.

The three men told the officer that they were victims of an armed robbery committed by Sears.

The officer then detained Sears and further investigated the incident, police said.

It was discovered that a few minutes prior to the officer's arrival, the three victims were outside of Royal Pizza on North Main Street when they were approached by Sears, who was wearing dark clothing, a ski mask and gloves. Sears pointed a handgun at them and demanded one of the victims "give him all of his money."

One of the other men tried to call 911 and Sears threatened to shoot all three of the men.

After taking the victim's cash, Sears ran north toward the rotary.

The victims followed Sears in their car. They were eventually able to catch up to him and subdue him until police arrived, police said.

Upon further investigation, officers found a Replica Handgun BB-Gun in the vicinity where Sears was captured.

Sears was still wearing a ski mask and gloves when officers arrived. Authorities seized them as evidence.

According to police, officers spoke with Sears regarding the incident, and his account was much different than the three victims' accounts. Sears had a very poor explanation for what he was doing prior to being captured, and officers found it strange that he was wearing a mask and gloves on a mild winter night, police said.

Sears was informed he was under arrest, but he was transported to a hospital for injuries he had suffered during the scuffle.

Sears is facing charges including armed robbery while masked, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and intimidation of a witness.

Police say Sears has not yet been formally booked as he is still receiving medical treatment.

It is unclear whether Sears has an attorney.
