Maine Assault Convict Prisoner Dies

A man has died in a Maine prison, confirms the state's Department of Corrections.

Phillip Kay, 32, died at the Downeast Correctional Facility in Machiasport, Maine.

Kay died Friday afternoon after serving more than four and a half years for aggravated assault as part of a 12-year split sentence.

The death is being reviewed by authorities.
