Police Investigate Weekend Slaying of High School Senior

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Police in Worcester continue to investigate the weekend slaying of an 18-year-old high school senior.

Joseph Safo-Agyare was shot just after midnight on Saturday.

Police found out about the shooting when they spotted a speeding car with its lights out headed to St. Vincent's Hospital. A woman got out of the car and said someone had been shot.

Safo-Agyare was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say they interviewed several people who live in the area where the teen was shot but have received little cooperation. There have been no arrests.

The teen's father, Franklin Safo-Agyare, tells The Telegram & Gazette that his son attended a party in the area he was shot. His son was scheduled to graduate from Worcester North High School next month.
