The New Hampshire Supreme Court has upheld the second-degree murder conviction of a prison inmate in the fatal ambush and attack of a fellow prisoner in 2010.
In his appeal, Thomas Milton said prosecutors portrayed him in an unfair light during his trial. Milton did not deny his affiliation with a white supremacist prison gang, but took issue with how the organizational structure of the Brotherhood of White Warriors and its criminal activities were discussed by an expert witness for the prosecution.
Milton was sentenced to over 30 years in prison in connection with the beating death of 42-year-old Anthony Renzzulla. Gang members believed Renzzulla was a snitch.
The court on Thursday concluded that the value of the evidence wasn't substantially outweighed by the danger of unfair prejudice.
