2nd Man Pleads Guilty in Connection With Officer's Death

Kevin Dingwell of Wakefield was sentenced Thursday to two years of probation after entering a plea under the Alford doctrine

A second man has pleaded guilty in connection with jewelry heist at a Woburn, Massachusetts, department store in 2010 that led to the death of a police officer.

Kevin Dingwell of Wakefield was sentenced Thursday to two years of probation after entering a plea under the Alford doctrine, meaning while he does not admit to guilt he acknowledged authorities have enough evidence for a conviction.

Dingwell was charged with misleading police. Prosecutors say he was outside the Kohl's store on Dec. 26, 2010 at the time of the robbery that left Officer Jack Maguire as well as the mastermind of the heist, Domenic Cinelli, dead.

Dingwell's attorney said her client knew nothing about the plot to rob the store.

Another man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder this week.
