3 Arrested After Armed Home Invasion Christmas Morning

Police said the men were armed with a baseball bat and knife.

Three men from Lynn are under arrest after authorities said they found the group armed and breaking into a home in East Boston Christmas morning.

Boston Police received the call around 6:30 a.m. Friday, reporting a breaking and entering in progress on Saratoga Street.

Upon their arrival, officers said they found the front door broken open and quickly entered the building. On the second floor landing, police said they found three men - one holding a bat and another with a 4-inch folding knife - and immediately withdrew their guns, ordering the men to drop their weapons.

Two of the suspects complied, though another ducked out of sight behind a corner on the third floor, police said. After a struggle, all three men were arrested.

Witnesses later told police they heard loud banging at the front door, but were able to retreat to the second floor apartment before the intruders gained entry.

Police said Jose Ventura, 23, Jeremy Ventura, 20 and Francisco Ramirez, 33, were arrested for armed home invasion and destruction of property.

The trio will be arraigned Monday in East Boston District Court.
