3 Women Seriously Injured in Crash

Three women were seriously hurt Sunday afternoon when two cars collided in Pelham, New Hampshire.

Police say a Nissan Altima was turning into the parking lot for Tobacco Junction on Bridge Street when a Hyundai sedan struck it head-on.

Crews responded just after 1 p.m. and found that the 34-year-old woman who was driving the Nissan had suffered life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Lowell General Hospital before being airlifted to Boston.

A 69-year-old woman was driving the Hyundai, with her 20-year-old granddaughter as a passenger. Both were seriously hurt and transported to area hospitals.

None of the patients' identities have been released.

The crash caused Bridge Street to close for about two hours. The cause remains under investigation.
