United States Senator Elizabeth Warren joined Mayor Marty Walsh along with over 2,000 community and interfaith leaders in an evening of healing and unity at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center.
“There is just a lot of uncertaThe crowd at today’s event vowed to fight back against the divisive politics that dominated the presidential election.inty right now and so tonight is really about people gathering together from different backgrounds,” says the event’s executive director Yusufi Vali.
Walsh and Warren did not hold back when it came to President-Elect Donald Trump and the decisions he’s made since winning the election.
“I am very concerned about how Donald trump is beginning to define his administration with the people he personally is picking to lead this country,” Warren said.
And amidst a group of different races, religions, and political backgrounds The Islamic Society hopes the event is able to bring people together and communicate the message of moving forward.
